Building for the Neighbourhood: Why 429 Walmer Resonates with Forest Hill Residents

When we set out to design 429 Walmer, we knew we weren’t just building another condo — we were creating a sanctuary for people who’ve made Forest Hill their home and are looking to downsize without sacrificing what they love. A recent National Post article puts it best: these buyers “don’t want Yorkville congestion” — they want privacy, scale, elegance, and a timeless building that suits their lifestyle.

Why 429 Walmer is Different

  • Boutique scale, seriously considered: With just 48 residences spread over 18 storeys, every suite offers significant space (from 2,100 to 8,500 sq ft), 10- to 12-foot ceilings, private elevator access — things you don’t find in high-density, cookie-cutter developments.
  • Craftsmanship over flash: The design by Arcadis Architects blends stone, brick, and glass in tonal layers, nodding to the tree-lined elegance of its surroundings.
  • Luxury you can live in: The kitchens include Downsview cabinetry and high-end appliances (Wolf, Sub-Zero, Cove), the bathrooms feature radiant-heated marble, and terraces are deep enough for entertaining or barbecuing.
  • Amenities that matter: Rather than overwhelm with quantity, our amenity spaces focus on calm, connection, and wellness — from a Nordic-inspired spa and private fitness studio to a pickleball court and garden gallery.
  • Service and security: A 24/7 porte-cochère, concierge, valet, facial-recognition entry, and private resident app make day-to-day life seamless.

What This Means for Forest Hill

The response to 429 Walmer’s launch has been overwhelmingly local — nearly 90% of our launch preview attendees came from the surrounding neighbourhood. It’s proof that there’s a real demand for thoughtful, high-quality living that doesn’t compromise on serenity or heritage.

Our goal was never to build “just another condo in Toronto”; we wanted to build something that belongs in Forest Hill, something future-proof, a place that feels right not just now, but even 20 years from now. As our President Jonathan Goldman puts it, this building “carries legacy forward.”

We invite you to read more in the National Post article — but also to explore what we’re building.
